"You're more likely to find me on a camping vacation than in a hotel resort."

Sabrina Ewert is a laboratory engineer at BizLink in Friesoythe.

Random facts about me:

  • For 2020 years, my husband and I have been the proud owners of a 100-year-old house and have been renovating and refurbishing 90% of it ourselves.

  • I love rock music and since 2012 at least one rock festival belongs in the annual vacation planning.

  • The best beer and I are native of Jever and that is not called "Jewer".

  • I am a member of the TSO fan club and support the EWE Baskets Oldenburg whenever time allows.

How I came to BizLink:

Right after graduating in 2017, the job at LEONI here was my first port of call. Since I work with a super team and the tasks are very varied and always challenging, I have been stranded here ever since and am still on board at BizLink.

What I do at BizLink:

I am responsible for all tests on plastic insulation in the mechanical thermal laboratory. I plan and coordinate the tests in the lab, support the cable developers with material issues and questions about standards, and coordinate the visits and samples for the certification companies of our cables. In addition, I am responsible for hazardous materials management here at the plant.

What challenges do I face in my everyday work and what are my superpowers that I can use to overcome them:

Projects rarely go as planned and often you have to pull out all the stops to meet deadlines. In addition, small construction sites often arise again and again when tests do not work as planned or machines break down. Organizational talent and creativity are always needed to get everything under control and sometimes find unconventional solutions.

What motivates me:

The sense of accomplishment at the end of the day keeps me happy and motivates me again and again.

What are essential gadgets:

Next to the laptop, a bottle of water belongs on the desk for me.

What I do outside of BizLink:

I am a team player through and through. That's why volleyball has been part of my life since I was a teenager. When I'm not working in our house again or spending time with the family, I'm out at concerts or spending time with the clique.
